¿SABÍAS QUE... EL TAPIZ DE BAYEUX MIDE 70 METROS?

Edmund's de Norwich nació el día de la guerra el año 1066. Su padre lo perdió todo; sus campos, su ganado, conreos, etc... Un día su padre cogió a su familia y se fueron a vivir a Canterbury, para ver si encontraban una vida mejor. Cuando llegaron, su padre fue a buscar ayuda al medio hermano de Edmund; que era cura. En la iglesia mientras el padre de Edmund le pedía ayuda al medio hermano de su hijo, Edmund fue a ver el tapiz donde se narraba la guerra que les destruyó la  vida y les dejó sin casa en Norwich.

El tapiz en el  que se fijó Edmund era llamado tapiz de Bayeux que mide 70 metros y que explica todo lo que pasó en la guerra de Hastings. Este tapiz se creó después de la espectacular batalla. Debido a su importancia ha sido visitado por mucha gente aunque las muertes que hubo fueron muy dolorosas.

My name is Edmund but people call me Edmund of Norwich Today, at tehe hour of my death and penniless. Iam writing these words as my only legacy after having lived for a long time. I have seen how my friends, enemies and relatives have died. God has tor,emted me for living such a long life.

I was born in Norwich in the year of Our Lord MLXVI. It is said that the day I was born a bright light crossed the sky. My parents thought this was a sign that something bad was about to happen. But it was not only me who suffered from a disaster ; my own country suffered too. It was invaded by norman people. One day in October a battle took place near hastings. William, Duke of Normand from France fought against his cousin Harold, king Harold was killed by an arrow in his eye and a sword from a Norman solider. After that william marched to london where he was crowned new king of england. Years later I saw a very long, heavy precious tapestry  with some of these events in it.

Avui he anat a la catedral de Canterbury amb el meu pare i mentre ell estava amb el bisbe, he vist un tapis molt gran hon habia dibuixada la guerra que va passar quan vaig neixer. Al veure'l me impactat molt, sobretot per les imatges de morts que hi habia. Per culpa d' aquesta guerra hu vam perdre tot i a casa meva ens estem morint de gana.
